Children from Malvern met on Saturday 23rd April for a day of singing in aid of the Ukraine Crisis Appeal. The children worked so hard, learning a Ukrainian Lullaby both in English and Ukrainian, a Russian folk song symbolising peace, and on a rousing tearjerker ‘One World’ by local composer Jon Raybould written to express how children would choose peace and acceptance over war in our shared world.

It was lovely that some of the first people to move to Malvern from Ukraine were there to support the concert, and forgave us for our pronunciation of Ukrainian too! The day was great fun. I hope that we will hold more Children’s Choral Days in the future. Thank you to everyone at St. Matthias Church who supported the event wholeheartedly, and to everyone who attended and made it a success.

Sing for Ukraine

The day was ended with a concert with all proceeds given to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. £270 has been raised through the choral day so far. There is still a just giving button on this website so it’s not too late to donate.
