Come along and sing for the joy of singing. This group is for those who need a more laid back approach to group singing.
The songs (with words provided) will be drawn from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s and will be a trip down memory lane. This is a great opportunity to participate in a friendly group with no pressure to stand for long periods or to perform. We aim to be a dementia friendly group (Es is trained through Alzheimer’s Society).
The session will include gentle physical warm ups to keep the heart and body going, breathing exercises to promote lung health, and singing songs from memory to stimulate the brain.
We will also sing songs from word sheets, allowing us to remember a greater range of songs and to appeal to everyone in the group. Singing is great for lifting mood, for stimulating neural pathways and for making friends.
